The Reasons Why Someone Becomes Anti-Social (Fany Hendriani, 1730911011)

Causes and Effects Essay

One of the indication that someone has become an anti-social is always ignoring and violating the rights of others. A person can be categorized as having this kind of disorder after the age of 18 years. However labeling of antisocial personal disorders is given only if they have a history of symptoms before they are 15 years old. A better way to understanding anti-social attitudes as personality disorder becomes easier if viewed in a wider context. Mostly, antisocial disorders are obtained by a combination of thoughts, emotions, and behavior. The combination then makes someone look different from the average person. And the question is, why can someone be anti-social? there are three possibilities for someone to become anti-social, namely having a history of behavioral disorders in their childhood, childhood in a family environment that is not harmonious or often suffering acts of violence, spending childhood by being abandoned or exploited.

The bad consequences of childhood trauma not only have an impact on children's lives in the near future. However, it can have a severe long-term impact on adult life. Some studies have shown serious problems about trauma in children. One child who is exposed to stress due to trauma in the first eight years of life is more likely to develop mood disorders, psychotic disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) than children who are not traumatized. By the time the child has grown up, it is likely that he will limit himself to associating with other people so that this behavior can be called anti-social.

Family environment that is not harmonious or often suffers from acts of violence. Family conditions that are not harmonious become a burden for children. Certainly, he/she  did not want anyone else to know how his/her family was doing. This is what makes them more quiet and tends to be antisocial. They did not want to associate with anyone and prefers to be alone. Someone who is in a family environment that is not harmonious will lose motivation and enthusiasm. It is not surprising that he will grow up to be a passive and unconfident child.

Skipping childhood by being abandoned or exploited is arbitrary action and discriminatory treatment of children carried out by the community or their own family with the aim of forcing the child to do something without regard to children's rights such as physical and mental development in the future. Exploitation of minors means exploiting children to take actions that are beneficial in economic, social or political terms regardless of the general status of children whose lives are still alive in childhood or less than 17 years.

Experts do not know for sure the healing techniques or prevention of antisocial personality disorders. However, that antisocial behavior is rooted in life experiences during childhood, parents, teachers, and doctors are more likely to see early warning signs. Thus, they can apply proper parenting, including teaching children to uphold discipline values, so that they will indirectly modify their behavior. Cycotherapy is also claimed to help reduce the possibility of children developing these personality disorders as they grow up.
