Building self-capacity is the process by
which individuals improve their abilities to reach their goals and greatest
potentials. By building self-capacity you will be able to do things you weren’t
capable of before and handle problems that life may throw at you. Here are some
ways to build your self-capacity: (1) get out of your comfort zone; (2) stop
judging yourself; and (3) focus.
It will be difficult to build
self-capacity for those who just play safe. If you choose to remain in your
comfort zone, nothing will change. The only way to get to the next level is to
try new things, take challenges and risks. For example, you can learn a new
language. As you gain new skills, you also get to discover different cultures and
values which can help your self-growth. You can also try new hobbies because
hobbies allow you to explore yourself and your talents. Another example is to
join different clubs or classes that suit your interest; this will not only
expand your knowledge, but also your social circle and friendships. Trying a
new challenge may feel difficult at first, but it will become easy over time.
You may make mistakes but you will learn in the process and you will become a
stronger and better person. So, get out of your comfort zone and explore new
things!
It’s important to stop judging yourself
for building your self-capacity. It damages emotionally as it can lead to low
self-esteem and depression. It might be hard for you to express your desires
because you’re afraid you will disappoint other people. You might press down
your feelings because you considered yourself unworthy. Don’t worry about the
opinion of others too much because it will only get you nowhere. Remember
everyone is different and nobody is perfect. It’s okay if you make mistakes
because you can learn from them. Accepting failures is the key of your growth
and success. If you’re stuck in the past and always being burdened by it, it
keeps you away from achieving your dreams.
Once you’ve stopped judging yourself, you can feel the freedom to be
yourself and not afraid to get what you want.
Focus your heart and your mind on the
capability or skill that want to improve. Identifying your goals specifically
helps you to stay focus. If necessary
you can make to do list beforehand. By Writing it down it keeps you on track.
Don’t try too many things at once, it can make you distracted. Fail to focus is often caused by
multitasking. When the brain is forced to focus on different things it might
get sloppy. Set your priority straight, which one is more important and which
one can wait. Without a great focus you might end up busying yourself with
unimportant matters. Sometimes you’re tempted by things that seem more
interesting and fun to do. They can block your way to your goals.
Building self-capacity is a process of
self-growth and self-improvement. It
helps you to be a better person and adapt to different situation and
environment. You will meet different
obstacles on your way and you might fail at some points, but each time you
learn from your mistakes, you become a stronger person and it leads you to a
more fulfilling life. As Jim Rohn said, “The big challenge is to become all
that you have the possibility of becoming. You can’t believe what it does to
the human spirit to maximize your human potential and stretch yourself to the
limit.”
